Thank you for asking and yes, there are rules that apply to every German citizen that inhabits a house in Germany.
The House Rules structure the communal life of all inhabitants in one building and need to be followed by everyone equally. House Rules are set up by every house owner of multi-party buildings and refers to the German rental laws. In some buildings, the house rules for the building/complex can be found on the notice board in the building entrance.
Please Note: Breaking these rules can result in legal prosecution as a consequence. Hence House rules must be followed, as they ensure a relaxed coexistence with your flatmates and neighbours.
In Germany, there is no general ordinance prescribing a statutory midday rest. However, it is possible that regulation on midday rest from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. applies at the municipal level. This depends on the city and municipality. If you are unsure, you can ask your local municipality or check their website.
Check the documents below we attached and you will find the applying house rules in German and English.
